G.P.S. Surveys

GPS (global positioning system) surveys can be any of the previously listed types of surveys, in addition to much larger "control" type projects that cover areas as vast as entire counties or states.  GPS surveying systems rely on satellite technology to ascertain and measure precise points on the surface of the earth.

GPS technology is well-suited for surveying in open areas which have unobstructed views of the sky.  This makes GPS an ideal tool for surveying farmland or building sites.

Madsen Land Surveying Inc., has been utilizing GPS technology since the late 1990's, and currently uses Trimble R8 RTK GPS receivers in conjunction with Trimble's TSC2 data collector and survey controller.
